The Call for Entries to take part to the 33rd African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival is now open. The festival will be held in May, 2024 from 3rd to 12th.

We are open to receive Feature-Lenght and Documentaries from Africa, Asia and Latin America; Short Films directed by filmmakers from Africa and diaspora and films shooted by Italian filmmakers - or Italy-based - in Africa, Asia and Latin America or about intercultural issues.

Submission is free of charge.

Sections and criteria

Selection is open to film released in 2023 or 2024, preferably still inedited in Italy. For the "Windows on the World" Feature Films Competition we can only accept Italian premières.

Award euro 8,000*
Fiction and documentary films made by directors from Africa, Asia and Latin America (minimum running time 60 min.)

African Short Film Competition
Award euro 2,000*
Short films (fiction and documentaries) made by African directors (maximum running time 59 min.)

Extr'A Competition
Award euro 1,000*
Fiction films and documentaries made by Italian - and Italian-based directors - in the three continents (Africa, Asia and Latin America) or related to immigration, integration and interculture in Italy.

How to Submit films?
Submitting films for the next FESCAAAL selection is very easy: you have to fill in an online entry form, accept the rules and send us a preview link for our Selection Commitee. Do not hesitate to write us for any inquieries (or curiosities!).
