Wanuri Kahiu and Anna Marano began Dada Productions in a perfect symbiosis of the visions they have for the sector within the regional context. Wanuri was able to identify the technical vacuums that are present in the film industry in Kenya. The local authorities have illustrated the need to increase local production by drafting a bill that intends to increase local production up to 30% during prime-time. The aim of the bill is to urge local production companies to move away from importing foreign programs.

Anna has been able to attract interested parties and involve the appropriate stakeholders in organizing, structuring and funding film productions that help bridge the gap in the quality of film production.

Dada offers a feasible methodology for artists in Kenya to make quality projects effectively. Dada seeks to inspire projects that reflect a positive image of Kenyan artists locally and abroad.
Dada's primary objective is to open up artistic and cultural borders between East Africa and the international world. Dada's aim is to secure a colourful, complex and positive portrayal of the people and cultures of the East African region.
